therapy for women

Meet Karolina

I am dedicated and passionate about working with women as I believe that being a woman can be very challenging. My passion was ignited years ago when I observed how women’s mental health was often undermined and dismissed. Becoming a mother opened my eyes to the joys and challenges of motherhood, leading me to realize that my true calling is to support women, moms, and moms-to-be. Since then, I have spent years researching and learning about women’s mental health and maternal mental health. I have shared my knowledge and support with many women seeking new meaning, adjusting to life changes, or struggling to find themselves or redefine their identity in the fast-paced, constantly changing daily life.

Whether you are here because of the challenging situations or you have been silently struggling for a while, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we will explore your thoughts and feelings, think through difficult life situations, improve your communication, develop coping strategies, and work on prioritizing yourself. You will leave our sessions with a concrete plan and a personal toolbox ready for use in your everyday life.

When you feel ready to take that first step toward healing, know that I’m here to listen! I’d be honored to hear your story and support you in creating the fulfilling life you truly deserve!

My name is Karolina Lazarov. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Behavior Consultant and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapist. I was born in Poland where I earned my first graduate degree in Applied Clinical Psychology. I also gained excessive training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders during my Post-Graduate fellowship at the County Public Hospital and became involved in a research project studying prenatal attachment between mothers and their unborn children, as well as, the healing process of mother’s psychotherapy after a birth of a child.

To advance my career, I decided to move to Philadelphia where I obtained my second graduate degree in Professional Counseling Psychology and became a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavior Consultant. I was trained in Mindfulness, ACT, Strength-Based and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as, perinatal and postpartum related disorders, infertility, birth trauma and difficulties with transitioning and adjusting to motherhood.
