Becoming a new mother may be overwhelming. Feelings of depression or anxiety may arise as a hormonal imbalance, sleep deprivation, body-image struggles, every day stressors. In same cases, these feelings may go away after a while but in others, professional help may be needed. Feeling stressed out, depressed, or anxious puts a toll not only on a new mother but also on a baby and her partner. It affects the way new mom interacts with others and the way she treats her baby and herself. Counseling for new mothers is based on providing mother with support that she needs and letting her to truly express herself and her feelings in a non-judgmental and safe environment. It helps mothers to release the stress of every day new life and get help needed to overcome the experienced struggles and difficulties related to being a mother, wife, and a woman.
