Meet Karolina

I am dedicated and passionate about working with women as I believe that being a woman can be very challenging. I found my passion years ago when women’s mental health was undermined and dismissed. When I became a mom, I understood firsthand all the joys and challenges of motherhood and realized that working with moms and women in general is my true calling. Since then, I have spent years researching and learning about the feminist and women psychology, as well as, maternal mental health and I have shared my passion, my knowledge, and my support to many women searching for the new meaning, adjusting to life changes, or struggling with finding themselves and their identity in a fast pacing and constantly changing day to day life.

Whether you are here because of the challenging situation or you have been silently suffering for a while, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we can work on exploring your thoughts and feelings, thinking through difficult life situations, improving your communication, developing coping strategies and prioritizing yourself.

When you are ready to take the first step to feeling better, please get in touch. I would love to hear your story and help you to build a life that you deserve.

My name is Karolina Lazarov. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Behavior Consultant and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapist. I was born in Poland where I earned my first graduate degree in Applied Clinical Psychology. When in Poland, I was trained in Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic Therapy, as well as, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. I had a chance to work at the Youth & College Students Counseling Center and State Police Headquarters mentoring, diagnosing, and counseling female police officers while using Trauma Informed Care as my treatment framework. I also gained excessive training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders during my Post-Graduate fellowship at the County Public Hospital and became involved in a research project studying prenatal attachment between mothers and their unborn children, as well as, the healing process of mother’s psychotherapy after a birth of a child.

To advance my career, I decided to move to Philadelphia where I obtained my second graduate degree in Professional Counseling Psychology and became a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavior Consultant. I was trained in Mindfulness, ACT, Strength-Based and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as, perinatal and postpartum related disorders, infertility, birth trauma and difficulties with transitioning and adjusting to motherhood.

For the past 15 years, I have been working with individuals  struggling with adjustment and life transitioning, depression, anxiety, OCD, perinatal disorders, infertility, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, and parent-child struggles in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.
